Scope: ocean, environmental
Type: numeric
Description: For ocean water and freshwater samples: lower size cutoff for the filtration during sample collection, i.e. the collection filter pore size in µm. The contents of this filter are kept for sequencing.
For virome sequencing, there is usually no extra lower filter as everything remaining is captured e.g. by iron flocculation. Put "0" in this case, even if the paper specifies a further filtration step after the iron flocculation.
Examples: 0.22, 0.2, 0.8, but also 0 (when the complete sample is kept and then further enriched e.g. by iron flocculation)
